Jharkhand, India: Two COBRA Jawans Injured in IED blast

Two jawans of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (Cobra) were critically injured after triggering an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the CPI (Maoist), according to local press media. The event occurred in the West Singhbhum district on December 14.

The Superintendent of Police stated that the head constable and a constable of the COBRA Battalion-209 were seriously injured in an IED blast planted by CPI (Maoist) near Baliba village under the Chotanagra PS on Sunday. Both have been medically evacuated from the deep jungle inside the Saranda forests and airlifted to a higher medical care institution in Ranchi.
