More Murders in the Continuing Escalations in the Occupation of the West Bank

In the past days Israeli occupying forces and illegal settlers have murdered two teenagers, shot and injured four residents, burned vehicles, converted residents’ houses into military barracks, uprooted olive trees and detained at least nine people in continuing escalations across the West Bank.

On Tuesday the 16th of December, 16-year old Ammar Sabah was murdered by occupation forces during a raid on a local mosque in the village of Tuqu, south of Bethlehem. He was shot in the chest when soldiers opened indiscriminate fire during the raid.

During the funeral procession hours later, where thousands of mourners had gathered, another 16-year old teenager was murdered by an Israeli settler who had gotten out of his car and opened fire, murdering Muheeb Jabrin and injuring another.

In Nablus, one Palestinian youth was shot in the chest, another in the knee, and two others sustained injuries from shrapnel in an attack from Israeli occupation forces.

In the Ras al-Ain neighborhood in the Old City of Nablus clashes arose between Israeli occupation forces and residents, where occupation forces used gun fire, stun grenades and tear gas on the population. At least eight Palestinians have been detained, including a 70-years old man, after raids in the city.

In the al-Auja area, north of Jericho in the eastern West Bank, a family of five, was injured in an attack from Israeli settlers, thereafter releasing their livestock into their home. Other attacks where reported, as settlers burning two vehicles and spray-painted racist slogans on the walls of homes in the northeast of Ramallah. The occupation forces are continuing their bulldozing operation, uprooting 500 mature olive trees.

Israeli occupation forces and illegal settlers have murdered at least 1,096 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000 since October 2023, according to Palestinian figures.
