Paris: Unitary Rally Against the Imperialist Aggression on Venezuela

On Friday 9th of January, the Ligue de la Jeunesse Révolutionnaire (LJR) of Paris is calling for a united rally against the US imperialist aggression in Venezuela. The call says:
For years, Venezuela has been the target of US imperialism, which seeks to grab the country’s oil resources. An unprecedented military deployment is underway in the Caribbean Sea: the US fleet is gathering there and pointing its guns at Venezuela. South America has always been subjected to the US domination, which seeks to make it its exclusive preserve in order to plunder the continent and take over its domestic market. The Yankees will not hesitate to subjugate the entire region militarily in order to maintain their hegemony. The so-called “war on drugs,” which serves as a pretext for the U.S. military to conduct its operations in Latin America, is nothing more than a cover for a war against the peoples, a war in the service of U.S. monopolies and their plans for domination. The illegal capture of a Venezuelan oil tanker and the total embargo against the country mark another step toward direct military intervention, aimed at bringing Venezuela to heel and installing a puppet regime subservient to US imperialist interests. Imperialism is in crisis; the vultures want to carve up the world and the predators want to divide the world and are sowing war on every continent. In the same way, Russia is using the pretext of the struggle against Nazism in Ukraine to justify its military intervention, while in reality pursuing objectives that serve its imperialism. We must develop the anti-imperialist struggle and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Venezuelan people in their just struggle for national independence in the face of the genocidal American hyperpower. The United States has shown in the past that it is capable of anything: support of the genocidal Fujimori in Peru, military coups in Chile and Uruguay, and of course, direct military interventions in Nicaragua and El Salvador. Today, Venezuela is under serious threat. Anti-imperialists, democrats, and sincere revolutionaries must defend it!
