Brazil: COMRADE JÉSSICA PAULA: PRESENT IN THE STRUGGLE!

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a note published by The Brazilian Association of People’s Lawyers – Gabriel Pimenta (ABRAPO).

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of the esteemed People’s Lawyer, Jéssica Paula. Jéssica was an example of unwavering dedication to the people’s cause. Her career was marked by the technical and political defense of poor peasants in Rondônia, students, and all workers who dare to fight for their rights.

As a member of the Brazilian Association of People’s Lawyers Gabriel Pimenta (ABRAPO), she honored the law by transforming it into a living tool to support popular organization and resistance. Faced with Dr. Lenir’s imprisonment, Jessica did not back down: she courageously took on legal tasks in the region and provided direct support to prisoners, guaranteeing them assistance, food, and dignity.

Her departure leaves an immense void, but her consistency and commitment to a just society remain a beacon. Her legacy lives on in every inch of land conquered and in every voice that rises up against oppression.
