ICE Murder Met by Widespread Demonstrations in Minnesota, US
Over the last five days there have been widespread demonstrations in Minnesota over the murder of a woman by an officer of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Tens of thousands of people have gathered in the streets of Minneapolis and its twin-city Saint Paul, protesting the ICE murder. According to several sources more than thirty demonstrators have been arrested so far.

Shortly after the murder, residents of Minneapolis started to gather in protest of ICE border patrol agents at the scene of the crime. At one point barricades were formed to attempt to block a truck filled with ICE agents, whereas the the agents attacked the demonstrators with pepper spray.
On the morning of January 7th in Minneapolis, Renee Nicole Good, mother of three, was shot and murdered by an ICE officer in a residential area. Videos of the crime have been heavily circulated on social media, and shows the officer aggressively try to open her car door. As she attempted to drive away she was shot several times through her windshield by an ICE officer, which resulted in her murder.

This is happening in the context of the so-called “Operation Metro Surge”, deploying around 2000 Yankee-state ICE agents in Minnesota based on allegations of child care fraud from Somali residents. This alleged child care fraud is reportedly based mostly on widely disputed claims made in a video in social media of a Trump supporter.
