On Tuesday, the Israeli army deployed a remote controlled bulldozer between the Al-Muhaysibat area and the town of Al-Qantara in Taybeh, in an attempt at scouting the positions of Hezbollah combatants. Combatants observed this, and delayed it in order to lead the enemy into an ambush, Al-Manar reports.
An Israeli armored column advanced toward Al-Qantara on Wednesday evening, intending to take control of the position, whereupon the resistance combatants were already lying in wait. The combatants waited until all enemy vehicles were in position before firing guided missiles at the center of the formation, destroying four Merkava tanks.
Despite attempts at obscuring the rest of the column through deploying smoke cover, the resistance combatants reportedly successfully destroyed the full rear and vanguard deployment, destroying ten Merkava tanks and two bulldozers in total, forcing the rest of the Israeli deployment to abandon their vehicles and flee on foot toward the Al-Muhaysinat area.
This comes as one in many such attempts by the State of Israel recently, at advancing toward the al-Baydar al-Faqani area north of Taybeh, with another similar ambush from resistance combatants resulting some days ago, in the destruction of 8 Merkava tanks.
