India – Labor Rights Activist Shiv Kumar Faces Harassment

We hereby share a note and a video published by the Campaign Against State Repression (CASR) on harassment faced by Shiv Kumar.

Labour rights activist Shiv Kumar, associated with the Majdoor Adhikar Sangathan (MAS), and his family are facing continuous harassment. His father, Rajbir, has been receiving repeated threatening calls from the mobile number 7517534857. The caller has been issuing threats of arrest against his two sons, Shiv Kumar and Sagar.

The identity of the caller remains unknown. However, there is a strong apprehension that officials from the Delhi Police Special Cell, Intelligence Bureau (IB), or other agencies may be involved in this harassment. Notably, these incidents have been occurring continuously after Shiv Kumar’s release from illegal custody and torture by the Delhi Police Special Cell.

A habeas corpus petition in this matter is already pending before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court. Such acts of intimidation and harassment appear to be a clear attempt to obstruct the judicial process.
