Six paramilitaries have been injured over this week while carrying out an anti-Maoist operation in the Saranda forest, in Jharkhand. All of them were injured in two improvised explosive device (IED) blasts and needed to be immediately airlifted to Ranchi for receiving urgent medical treatment.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on 30 March that India was “Naxal-free”. The truth is that there are thousands of troops deployed by the old Indian State in the Saranda Forest, as denounced by the Forum Against Corporatization and Militarization (FACAM):

Week after week, the Communist Party of India (Maoist) continues proving that, despite the claims by Modi and Shah, the People’s War is alive in India and poses a threat for the interests of the ruling classes in the country.
