PERU: AGAINST THE REACTIONARY ELECTORAL FARCE OF JUNE 7, 2026 (Second Round)
We hereby share an unofficial translation of an article by the Defense Committee of the Unique SUTEP found in the Association New Democracy – Germany (Nuevo Peru) published on May 23.
Don’t vote! Voting means helping to endorse this outdated social order of oppression and exploitation!
There is a continuity of a fascist, genocidal, and traitorous regime, which began on April 5, 1992, and to preserve it, they have staged their electoral farce and fraud for April 12, 2026: “General Elections.” These elections are a means of domination and an instrument intended to crush the struggles of the people—and, mainly, their vanguard—as well as to preserve this outdated social order that benefits only the Big Bourgeoisie, the Big Landlords, and the Bureaucratic Capitalism developed by Yankee imperialism, primarily. According to the ONPE, the presidential election has the following partial results: Keiko Fujimori of Fuerza Popular, with 17.091%, representing the Big Bourgeoisie, Comprador Faction, has the highest number of votes; followed by Roberto Sánchez, Juntos por el Perú, representing the Big Bourgeoisie, Bureaucratic Faction, with 12.038%; followed by Rafael López Aliaga, in third place, of Renovación Popular, with 11.880%. Consequently, the top two candidates for the Presidency of the Republic will advance to the “runoff election,” to be held on June 7, 2026. Immediately, López Aliaga, having lost in these elections, has spoken out against this process, demanding that they be “annulled.” The ONPE has responded that the election cannot be annulled, and even the “international observers” have endorsed it, arguing that it was conducted normally.
General elections organized by the classes that exploit and oppress the people, that is the Big Bourgeoisie with its two factions—the Comprador Big Bourgeoisie and the Bureaucratic Big Bourgeoisie—which are in collusion and struggle for political power, with the support of U.S. imperialism, specifically that of its ambassador in the country. They do not benefit the people and will never be favorable to them. They are part of Parliamentary Cretinism aimed at renewing and replacing the representatives of the Big Bourgeoisie and the Big Landlords. They are the path of the Bourgeoisie; they are not the Path of the People. Furthermore, these sham elections are designed to prop up the Three Great Mountains that oppress and exploit us, flaying us alive to produce absolute surplus value: Imperialism (mainly US imperialism), Bureaucratic Capitalism, and Semi-Feudalism. The central task is to overthrow these Three Mountains, to break the chains of brutal exploitation, hunger, and misery.
Therefore, do not vote; to do so implies endorsing this outdated social order and the comprador big bourgeoisie, which seized power in 1980, as well as the Big Landlords, Bureaucratic Capitalism, and even US imperialism. It has been 14 centuries of oppression since the State emerged in the 7th century, and 200 years of bourgeois republic, with a “democracy” used solely to exploit and oppress the Peruvian people. In this context, the obsolete Big Landlord/Bureaucratic State, with its rotten “State Powers,” is organizing General Elections on April 12 and 13, 2026, to replace officials and renew the reactionary Congress, saturated with lackeys of the exploiters and which will now include even more parasites: the 60 “Senators” and 130 deputies, with the peculiarity that it is the Senate that will replace the President of the Republic in cases of a “declaration of vacancy” and that it is “indissoluble”: it cannot be dissolved.
Thus, general elections have been a constant means and instrument throughout the country’s history to “legitimize” this outdated social order, which is currently in the throes of a widespread crisis. And whoever emerges as the “winner” of these general elections will impose even more fascism, genocide, and the sell-off of our homeland, for this is the path of the bourgeoisie and never that of the people; and the people have another path: the Democratic Path, which is the Path of Mariátegui, led by the unfading vanguard of the class—pure steel and embodying the Scientific Ideology of the Proletariat—which has evolved into a New, Third, and Superior Stage. It will bring down the Three Mountains that have plunged us into injustice, chronic hunger, misery, and oppression.

Contradiction: Material conditions will indeed change, “After the vote,…”. Those “up top” will carry on as before: amassing immense fortunes through the merciless exploitation that flays us alive; and us, “down below”: living in subhuman material conditions, battered by relentless inflation that erodes the value of our money and drives up the prices of basic necessities; much poorer than yesterday, starving, with empty pockets, and fighting off hunger. But steadfast in our convictions, resisting and looking ahead, anticipating a “New Dawn.” Yes, the “Elections” change: but for the Big Bourgeoisie and Big Landlords, they will now have new bosses or authorities at their service, and we: we must repudiate this electoral farce. Down with parliamentary cretinism; the UNIQUE SUTEP is class-conscious and will never be part of this path of the Bourgeoisie and Big Landlords!
