Communist Youth – France: Stop Repression Against RSF!
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement by the Communist Youth (JC) of France published on 22nd of June on its X account.
On Thursday, June 18th, we learned that the home of Tathagata Roy Chowdhury, Secretary-General of the Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF), had been raided. This attack is part of a campaign of intense repression against Indian anti-fascists and revolutionaries, whom the government labels “pen-wielding Naxalites.”
Our comrades, in their statement available on the La Cause du Peuple website (causedupeuple.net), explain that “the National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, has openly declared that civil society is their new front line” and that “the institutional attack launched today against activists of the mass movement in Bengal is a direct extension of this strategy, and the State is mobilizing all its agencies to implement it.”
Our comrades declare that “it is impossible to suppress the rising tide of mass rebellion through such fascist attacks. In the face of State terror, the RSF has held high and loud the red banner of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist politics and will continue to do so. In truth, the government’s crusade to eradicate these ‘pen-wielding Naxalites’ is nothing more than a fascist crackdown on democratic freedom of expression.”
The Communist Youth of France stands firmly with our Indian comrades and offers them the support of all revolutionary youth in France. The struggle against imperialism and fascism cannot be silenced by any repressive force – neither in India, nor here, nor anywhere else in the world. Wherever the rights of the peoples are under attack, wherever fascism stands in opposition to the Revolution, the youth will be at the forefront of defending democratic rights and freedom of expression. Let us recall that France is a major partner of the fascist Indian State. Indeed, since 1998, the French and Indian governments have shared a “Franco-Indian strategic agreement,” revitalized in 2023, the success of which France celebrated with “India’s purchase of 36 Rafale fighter aircrafts in 2026, the construction of six Scorpène submarines in Mumbai, the promotion of partnerships between industrial firms, and the joint development and launch of satellites. The French and Indian armed forces frequently participate in joint exercises (Shakti, Varuna, PEGASE, Garuda, etc.),” “Cooperation also extends to the fields of space and cybersecurity, as well as counterterrorism.”
However, Operation Kagaar – a genocidal campaign against the Adivasi people and Indian revolutionaries, of which this attack is a part – is regarded by the Indian State as an “anti-terrorist” operation. The immense military and police resources deployed against the population are therefore directly supported by French technology, equipment, and strategies. France is a partner in the campaign of terror against the Adivasis, ranging from rape and murder to aerial bombardments and the burning of entire villages. We, the Communist Youth, call for a struggle against these partnerships and for support of our Indian comrades by every means possible.
Down with imperialism! Down with France’s partnerships with Modi’s fascist regime!
Let’s rise up against the anti-democratic raids and interrogations carried out by the Indian State against activists in mass movements!
