Israel Intensifies Its Attacks Against Southern Lebanon

The State of Israel has intensified its attacks on southern Lebanon since past weekend, launching extensive artillery shellings, airstrikes and drone bombardments. The resistance has condemned the attacks and responded to them. The State of Israel has once more committed numerous crimes, violating the national sovereignty of Lebanon and has used forbidden weapons, such as phosphorus projectiles.
On Sunday, August 16, the Israeli army intensified its attacks on southern Lebanon, particularly on the Ali al-Taher hill east of the city of Nabatieh, carrying out several strikes overnight and into the early hours. The escalation follows a resistance operation that seriously injured three Israeli troops early on Saturday. The State of Israel responded by murdering 11 civilians, including three children. The operation by the Lebanese resistance targeted Israeli troops occupying the Sojod area, southern Lebanon, injuring three Israeli soldiers. Israeli media reported that the Israeli Army has tested over 100 defense systems against Hezbollah drone attacks, adding that their efficacy has not proven to be enough so far.
Hezbollah has released a video and footage of FPV drone operations targeting Israeli positions and the gathering of forces in southern Lebanon.
The State of Israel targeted several towns, agrarian areas and forests across southern Lebanon on Thursday August 20.
Earlier Thursday, a major explosion was reported in the area between Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Yohmor al-Shqif, following another explosion in the al-Mashaa area of Mansouri, which was also subjected to artillery fire.
Israeli artillery also targeted the wooded area between Ali al-Taher and al-Dabsha with phosphorus shells, according to reports, which again constitutes a war crime, since such ammunition are forbidden under the bourgeois international law. Israeli forces also started bulldozing operations in the town of Qantara.
These attacks show once more that the State of Israel – while the Lebanese State agrees to surrender and to sell out of the country on the orders of Yankee imperialism – continues attacking the Lebanese people. Meanwhile, the Lebanese Resistance is the only force that continues defending the national sovereignty. Hezbollah has rejected the agreement between the Lebanese State and the State of Israel and demands the government to withdraw from the talks with the Israelis. The Yemeni resistance has recently expressed support for the Lebanese resistance.
