Palestine: The Assault on the West Bank and Gaza Continues

In the West Bank and Gaza, Israel continues to carry out murders, pogroms, raids, demolition of homes and destruction of sources of livelihood of the Palestinian people.
Clashes between peasants and Israeli settlers took place in al-Mughayyir in the West bank. As the peasants tried to confront the settlers, Israeli soldiers opened fire on them, murdering two Palestinians.
28-year-old Palestinian resistance fighter fell in combat after clashes with Israeli forces as they besieged the house of his family in Nablus, on September 8. Also in Nablus, a settler had to be flown away by helicopter due to injuries after meeting resistance in an Israeli settlement in the village of Osarin.
In the West Bank, Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of overnight raids, storming the Palestinian towns of Kafr Qud, west of Jenin and Bal’a, north of Tulkarm, searching homes and arresting several Palestinians. Several arrests were also made by Israeli forces in Nablus and Birzeit.
Additionally Israeli forces are ripping up main waterlines in Anata, north of Jerusalem, threatening the lives of the local population, as well as the residents of the Shuafat refugee camp.
Israel also continues their assault on the Shuafat refugee camp for the second consecutive day. The ongoing operation follows Tuesday’s imposition of a curfew in the area, when Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers entered the area and forces sealed entrances, restricted residents’ movement and carried out widespread arrests.
Around 100 activists tried to break through the blockade which has been preventing the entry of essential supplies to the families of Qusra in northern West Bank for more than a month, several were detained.
In a recent report of the UN, it is estimated that 33,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the West Bank as of July. In the same report, it is stated that 102 Palestinians, including children, were murdered in the West Bank as part of Operation Iron Wall, initiated by the State of Israel in January.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared the Oslo Accords “null and void,” preparing once again to break with their own agreements, and attempt to advance their occupation of Palestine.
In a continuation of its advances past the so-called Yellow Line, clashes have been reported, with sources citing “heavy gunfire and artillery shelling.” Israeli vehicles, including a military bulldozer, reportedly moved dozens of meters west of the Yellow Line and began bulldozing Palestinian land.
Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported on the extent of the permanent and life-changing injuries caused by Israel’s genocidal war. The ministry said approximately 5,000 amputations have been recorded in Gaza, 300 Palestinians have suffered neurological and spinal injuries, while approximately 10,000 patients currently require intensive and long-term rehabilitation.
Palestine Chronicle reports that around 95% of Gaza’s population are dependent on humanitarian aid, and that around 90% have lost the purchasing power to reproduce themselves. As per the current agreement, 198,000 food and aid trucks should have been allowed entry since the start of the 330 days if ceasefire, however, only Only 69,387 trucks have been allowed entry.
