In Paris on October 11, a conference, organized by the International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) – Section France, in solidarity with the political prisoners and prisoners of war in India was carried out.
As La Cause du Peuple has reported, the spirit of revolutionary optimism was present during the presentations by the six speakers present. After the introduction by the AIL the conference continued with a speech by Ajith, who also highlighted the ongoing and still growing youth mobilizations in India.
Afterwards an Indian activist in France exposed the current developments in the class struggle in India, followed by a member of Partizan from Turkey, who shared his own experience as a political prisoner, highlighting: “for us revolutionaries, prisons were not only places of detention but also spaces of resistance, collective organization, and political formation.”
Lastly, in a presentation, the organizations Red Cry, a historic French organization supporting revolutionary prisoners, and the Communist Youth (JC), highlighted the crimes and war the old Indian State is committing against the people, highlighting the popular resistance against them and the People’s War in a high spirit of revolutionary optimism.
La Cause du Peuple analyses: “This conference was therefore a great victory for sincere anti-imperialists. Why? Because it united revolutionaries from three countries: France, Turkey, and, of course, India. It championed a clear ideological and political line: that of persistence in People’s War, a persistence fueled by the remarkable vitality of the Indian masses.” Going on to denounce the traitors in India who have abandoned this line.
This conference takes place in the midst of the ongoing youth struggles in France, that we have been reporting on. As a part of these the youth in France has been facing and resisting massive repression campaigns by the State. On October 11, the AIL section France has shared the following call for international solidarity:
“Since the end of September, the anger felt by highschoolers in popular neighborhoods of the Paris region has turned into a widespread youth revolt across the country, as well as in French colonies. The demands, which initially called for better studying conditions, quickly evolved into a challenge to the current system, reflecting the masses widespread rejection and frustration.
This uprising then spread to the universities, and subsequently to sectors of industry, at the call of various trade unions. Anti-imperialist organizations and communist youth groups, in particular, became heavily involved in the social movement. The same youth, who for three years have stood up against the genocide of the Palestinians, who have denounced the French state’s role in the colonization of Palestine, the plundering of Africa, and the maintenance of colonies, are now helping to organize the revolt against the French bourgeoisie, which is responsible for the capitalist/imperialist system in which we find ourselves.
This movement, made up mainly of young people aged between 14 and 17, is facing a bloody crackdown. The whole world has witnessed the barbarity of Macron’s regime, which has sent in its police to violently suppress the legitimate protests of French youth. Nearly 7,000 arrests, 90% of whom were minors, pre-trial detentions, several people blinded in one eye, a 15-year- old with his hand torn off, dozens of fractures…
Despite this veritable war against the people, the youth are not giving up, and their ranks are growing every day. We are experiencing a fiery October. All of this reflects the revolutionary process in France. Revolutionary violence is the main feature of this movement, it follows on from the Great Uprising of June, which was sparked by the death of the young Nahel, killed by a police officer in 2023, and confirms that the masses are objectively and subjectively ready for revolution.
We must understand that the Socialist Revolution is back and that we are going to see the big bourgeoisie reveal its fascist nature ever more clearly. We are witnessing an intensification of the crisis of imperialism growing poverty, preparations for imperialist war… In short, a whole series of events that herald the end of Macron’s reign and herald a new revolutionary period on the horizon.
We therefore call for international and internationalist solidarity in support of the French people’s revolt.
In particular, we call for:
– Organizing actions in support of the revolt in France, to provide moral and political support to the rebels
– To publicize and denounce on a massive scale the repression by the Macron regime and demand the government’s resignation
To build the revolt in your own countries, for it is indeed the global system that must fall
This regime is now held together solely by its police, international solidarity certainly has a role to play!
Long live proletarian internationalism! We are right to rise up!
Anti-imperialist greetings!”
