The Russian Communists express their full and unconditional support for the popular uprising in France, with hearts full of joy at the success of our French comrades and with hearts full of international solidarity.

We are following the situation in your country with great interest. We wish the heroic and fraternal French people – the creators of the Paris Commune and the anti-fascist Resistance of the 1940s – every success. We wish every success to the vanguard and leading force of the French people – the French proletariat. Half the success of French youth lies in the fact that they are led by organisations such as the Jeunesse Communiste. We areconfident that this uprising will be an important and productive step towards the restoration of the Communist Party of France. The bold and courageous French communists have every chance of showing the world what a Maoist revolution looks like in a developed imperialist country.

Dear comrades, you inspire us to fight in our own country. We wish your wounded a speedy recovery, and all your fighters who have fallen into the enemy’s clutches a swift release. We are confident that there were not too many of either group, and that the communist forces in France will continue to grow stronger.

We are confident that you will be able to rid your country’s working masses entirely of reformist illusions and electoral opportunism, thereby facing the militarisation and the right-wing offensive fully prepared.
