Ecuador: A spectre is haunting Europe

We publish this unofficial translation of the article published by the Defense Front of Struggles of the People of Ecuador.

“A spectre is haunting Europe” is palpable, evident; it is expressed in different ways.

The class struggle can eventually be seen as a revindicative struggle of a different order; of gender, ethnicity, of immigrants, etc., all expressing their discontent and contradictions with capitalism.

What happened in France is precisely that, the masses of workers are fed up with wanting to continue living in the conditions they do: oppressed, exploited, discriminated against, persecuted, stigmatized with crime or terrorism; In short, a long list that expresses the impossibility of the bourgeoisie to continue ruling as it has been doing for centuries, generating an optimal revolutionary condition.

Between these two aspects, what is important is the tendency, not wanting to continue living under the yoke of capital and all that that means; to confront the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, its bureaucratic-military apparatus.

The violent and just marches of the workers in France hit one of the most important centers of gravity of capitalism and imperialism in Europe. They confront the old society, its repressive apparatuses, the fascist hordes that turn to support the unsustainable. Confronting the military apparatus has its particularity, the repressive forces of France have historically been bloody, discriminatory, and it is seen that the only way to impose a “stand still” is under the violent circumstances by which the large French majorities they have been forced to respond; hitting them, hurting them, destroying their infrastructure, making them switch sides out of fear; undermine their operational capacity, wear them down.

The proletariat has brought out its deep class hatred, its contempt for a system that, in addition to being economically predatory, seeks to plunge the workers into humiliation and absolute submission. In these days of struggle, it has been key to unleash the repressed rage, today fueled by the murder of the 17-year-old young man of Moroccan origin, Nahel Merzouk.

IT IS RIGHT TO REBEL.

Tens of thousands of workers, students and others not only took to the streets of Paris to protest, but have practically besieged, from within, cities like Amiens, Dijon, Lille, Lyon, Nice, Rouen and Toulouse. In fact, for today, the masses of other towns and cities have joined this fight against the state and its institutions as a sign that, in France, as in other European countries, the specter of communism roams with force, with clear intention to destroy everything old, outdated, that which is no longer compatible at all with the masses of workers, with all of humanity.

As corresponds, the masses have unleashed a violent insurrection that has been devastating to everything in its path; in the end, they are the legitimate children of the Paris Commune, of the efforts of May 68; They have it clear that revolutionary violence is the way, that there is no room for parliamentarianism or for dealing with the enemies of the class and the people.

Nearly 800 offices and 1,200 vehicles set on fire; paralysis of the economic structure, destruction of large businesses; confrontation with the criminal police, causing many injuries. The reaction attacks, as is obvious to understand; However, what is important is the strength and decision of the masses to rise above a State that is figuratively strong, but is nothing more than a paper tiger, a bewildered puppy. Strong on the outside, attacking in other countries such as Afghanistan, Syria, or in Africa; shooting unarmed youths, practically executing them, but inside it is weak, in a state of decomposition. Its military apparatus, its war industry, Yankee backing and other spells are of little or no use to it in the face of the all-powerful force of the masses; so it has been forever; so they will be forever.

It is right to rebel, what the French masses have done is just, we salute their combativeness, we salute their decision to confront the old bourgeois State and its dictatorship, it is what is necessary. But there is still work to be done, it is up to the Maoists of France to reconstitute their Communist Party and put it at the front of the proletarian struggle, otherwise this vital effort will remain as a spontaneous action.

The proletariat and people of Ecuador stand in solidarity with the proletariat and the people of France, with their just struggle, with their just methods of confronting reaction and its apparatus.
