Update on Palestine and new Actions of Solidarity
The genocidal attacks of the State of Israel against the people of Palestine continue. As of January 16th at least 24,100 Palestinians are reported to have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war. The National Resistance Front in Palestine continues to fight back against Israel. Israeli media reports of heavy missile barrage of more than 50 rockets on southern Israel from Gaza. At least a store and a warehouse are reported to have been hit. According to the State of Israel 520 of their soldiers have been killed since the start of the campaign.
On the 15th of January two Palestinian workers are reported to have killed one person and injured 17 people in the central Israeli City of Ra’anana.
Ansar Allah in Yemen who have carried out several attacks against ships linked to imperialism and the State of Israel in support of the Palestinian people was attacked by US and British imperialism on the 11th of January. The imperialist attacks did not deter Ansar Allah who have stated that “all American and British ships and warships involved in the aggression against our country are considered hostile targets,” and that no future attack would go unpunished. On the 15th of January a US container ship was hit by an anti-ship ballistic missile.
Iran has launched 10 missiles which hit close to the US consulate in Erbil, northern Iraq. Iran claims that it destroyed one of the main headquarters of the Mossad in Iraq, in response to Israel killing an Iranian commander and commanders of the Palestinian Resistance.
Israel has carried out an intense aerial bombardment in Lebanon. There was at least 16 airstrikes in quick succession on the Suluki Valleyin southern Lebanon.
We have previously reported on the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people and international actions on solidarity with the Palestinian people.
There are now more reports of actions in solidarity with the people of Palestine and the National Resistance Front.
In the city of Tampere in Finland there has been weekly demonstrations for three months.
The poster of the International Communist League – ICL in support of the national resistance of the people of Palestine has also been put up in Tampere.
In Norway, Kampkomiteen reports of demonstrations in the cities of Bergen, Kristiansand and Trondheim.
In Bergen there are weekly demonstrations in support of the resistance struggle of the Palestinian people on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with 40 to 70 participants. In addition there have been several larger demonstrations on Saturdays, in one case counting 1,200 participants. The struggle of Palestinian people has also been linked to the struggle against Norwegian imperialism and imperialist aggression against Yemen.
In Kristiansand around 250 people marched through the streets in support of the Palestinian people on the 13th of January.
In Trondheim, on the 16th of January there was a demonstration in support of Palestine.
In France, Ligue de la Jeunesse Révolutionnaire, report of several actions in support of Palestine in Toulouse and Lyon.
We have received reports that actions in support of the Palestinian National Resistance were made along route 90 in Colchagua, O’Higgins, Chile together with actions for the 130-year anniversary of Chairman Mao Tse-tung.
Massive protests are reported in Yemen after the attacks against the country by US and British imperialism
Tens of thousands of people in 30 countries are reported to have protested in support of the Palestinian people on the occasion of 100 days having passed since the start of the war.
In the US capital, Washington D.C., thousands of people gathered on the 13th of January, demonstrating in support of the Palestinian people.
In London thousands of people marched in solidarity with Palestine on the 13th of January. The British State deployed 1,700 police officers against the demonstration.
In Amman, Jordan, thousands of people protested in solidarity with Palestine on the 12th of January.
