Resident’s encounter in Chile

On June 15 the third meeting of residents took place in Chile. In this meeting different communities of residents attended to talk on the housing problematic in the country, which is quite harsh among the poorest layers. This meeting had a special importance because different ways of struggle and experiences of the communities were debated.

Different communities send their greetings to the encounter, for example the Community Decent House Popular Front highlighted the necessity to unite in front of the evictions that take place in all the country.

On this topic, the unity of the people facing the evictions, the criminalization laws to the residents that seize the land to make their communities was highlighted.

These laws often criminalize even owners of their land in profit of the latifundium and the forest companies, who steel the land.

Thus, the role of the government, always loyal and at the service of the latifundum and the imperialist companies was empathized, no matter who governs.
