Statement of the COMMUNIST PARTY OF ECUADOR – RED SUN on the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah

Proletarians and oppressed peoples of the world, unite!
THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF ECUADOR – RED SUN, IN THE FACE OF THE ASSASSINATION OF HASSAN NASRALLAH
The strategy of imperialism, Zionism and the reaction of assassinating leaders and heads of revolutionary organizations or popular fighters linked to the national liberation and anti-imperialist struggles is of long tradition. “Neutralizing the centers of gravity” is what they call it euphemistically; that is, selective eliminations or crimes that seek to decapitate organizations.
The recent assassination of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in addition to being considered a tactical action, has a strategic connotation for imperialism, which aims to create a leadership vacuum and to unbalance the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance in the region. It also seeks to send a direct message to all organizations that oppose Israel’s criminal expansion and the repositioning of the USA in Asia.
The death of Hassan Nasrallah also has another component: one must remember the stoic resistance of the Lebanese people to the Israeli invasion in 2006, Harb Tammūz, where, for the first time since the creation of the Zionist State of Israel, it suffered a resounding and crushing defeat at the hands of Hezbollah and the Lebanese people. Drunk with triumph, Israel could not digest that a small country, with no military elements other than the Lebanese people’s conviction to struggle, had defeated it so resoundingly. The “military pride” that Zionism boasts of – which would be nothing without the technological, economic and operational support of Yankee imperialism – was made ridiculous as Chairman Mao’s claim became clear: they are nothing more than “paper tigers.” This defeat would not be forgotten by Netanyahu and his butchers.
However, as it has happened in other oppressed countries of the world, the assassination of the leaders of the revolution and the anti-imperialist struggle causes a stir, but does not prevent these just processes from stopping; on the contrary, it inflames the masses, pushing them with greater determination to combat, crush and expel the invaders, until they are reduced to shame and collective panic.
That Israel has killed more than 40,000 people in Palestine so far not only saddens us, but also strengthens our commitment to that people. It is a difficult number of lives to assimilate, but if such a sacrifice is necessary – unfortunately – to defeat imperialism and Zionism, the oppressed peoples of the world are ready to offer whatever blood is necessary to achieve our goals. The USA and Israel must know and accept that they too will have to pay the corresponding price for their cruelty. That is inevitable.
The same is likely to happen in Lebanon, where Zionism will try to impose the greatest possible cruelty. However, it will not dare to fight inch by inch for the territory it intends to occupy. The military technology at its disposal, as well as its strategies of “breaking through walls” or “inverse geometry”, will be of little or no use to them. It is written, and history confirms it: where there are masses and a People’s War is waged, victory is assured. Just wars will inevitably prevail over unjust ones. In this sense, Palestine and Lebanon are destined to win, and we are certain that, sooner or later, imperialism and Zionism will be crushed. They will be crushed!
The proletariat and the people of Ecuador express their solidarity with the resistance fighters and the Lebanese people in the face of the assassination of their leader: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. We are convinced that his legacy will be present in the imminent victory of the Lebanese people against the criminal, invading and abject Zionism.
