We publish an unofficial translation of the Mexican part of the Weekly Newsletter of Sol Rojo:

The Continental Meeting will be carried out on October 10 to 12, “building an alliance against gas pipelines and other mega-projects, in defense of the territories of indigenous peoples.” The meeting will take place in Yajxonax, in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, where the National Forum of Resistance (FNR) was held in December 2021, unifying the voices of different peoples, popular movements, democratic organizations and collectives that struggle against the mega-projects of dispossession and death in our country.

However, the relevance of this Continental Meeting is that it will bring together peoples and organizations from various countries of the continent, as well as solidarity comrades from other parts of the world. The Meeting is a continuation of the processes that have been generated after the FNR and is expected to result in a new step of national and international unity to confront and defeat imperialism’s plans of dispossession, subjection and exploitation.

We consider it of utmost importance to build unity among those below, based on clear principles and unity in action, facing the onslaught of reactionary States and imperialism that threaten to deepen corporatism and militarization against our peoples.

We continue to denounce the murder of three of our comrades in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region, who were defenders of the land, community members and indigenous people opposed to the imposition of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec: Luis Armando Fuentes Aquino (04/11/2019); Jesús Manuel García Martínez (10/27/2022); and Félix Vicente Cruz (04/13/2023).

The Current of the People – Red Sun will be present at the Continental Meeting.
