France: report on the demonstration for Georges Abdallah in Lannemezan
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by La Cause du Peuple.
Photo Report | Lannemezan: Demonstration for the release of Georges Abdallah, on the occasion of his 40 years of imprisonment
This Saturday, October 26, a great demonstration took place to demand the release of Georges Abdallah, a Lebanese communist combatant detained in France for 40 years. After submitting his 10th request for conditional release, the court’s deliberations will be delivered in mid-November – Georges Abdallah has been officially available to be free since 1999.
The demonstration was held near the Lannemezan prison, at the call of the Campagne Unitaire pour la libération de Georges Ibrahim Abdallah (CUPLGIA). A series of actions took place along the procession and the prison gates, led by determined activists, supported by the entire block.
We were present, with the latest issue of our newspaper. We present here a first photo report of the event. The same day, the organizers hailed the success of the mobilization, the demonstration bringing together several thousand supporters from the four corners of the country.
More photos will be published soon.
40 years in prison for Palestine, let’s free Georges Abdallah! Victory or victory!
