Fundraising for the AND Editorial Board’s meeting

The democratic newspaper A Nova Democracia has launched a fundraising for the meeting in Brasil of the Editorial Board of the newspaper. As the newspaper itself reports, “Facing the recent attacks on freedom of press and censorship by the big media outlets, prohibiting A Nova Democracia’s channel in YouTube, it is even more urgent to strength the struggle for a revolutionary press.” This event will also be essential to promote the debate on the National Palestinian Resistance and the peasant struggle, combating the siege by the imperialist media platforms.

The goal is to achieve 7,000 reais (around 1,209 $ or 1,163€) mainly to cover the costs of the travel, accommodation and montage of the structure needed for the Editorial Board meeting. The event will have panel discussions that will address central issues of the newspaper’s editorial line, which have led imperialism to censor its content, such as the Palestinian struggle and the revolutionary peasant struggle, issues that AND has always defended and reported on.

“The editorial meeting will be more than an internal meeting; it will be a milestone in the resistance against the siege that is increasingly looming against people’s and combative journalism and for the reaffirmation of AND’s commitment to be and always remain a media outlet in defense of the revolutionary causes of the peoples. At a time of increasing control over information, support for the revolutionary press is essential.” Adds the newspaper.
