A Nova Democracia (AND) has reported on the execution of a street vendor by a squad in Águas Claras, Minas Gerais. As always the Military Police (MP) alleges they were persecuting the youth vendor and that he was armed. But the statements by the police officers are proved lies since there are footage of the detention and the murder. After murdering the worker, the Military Police fired rubber bullets on the witnesses on the area.
The residents of the neighborhood where the street vendor lived protested against the murder. The protest was harshly repressed by dozens of police officers who shot rubber bullets. The abuses and even the murders committed by the MP in Brazil are very usual. AND reports almost on daily basis about such kind of crimes. For example we reported few days ago on murders in Londrina and how the residents also protested them:
In Vista Alegre, Paraíba, the residents of the community made a protest and blocked the streets with barricades on fire, during the protests at least two police officers were injured. The residents protested an action by the MP which murdered five youths. As usual, they stated that these youths were armed. But leaders from the community question this statement.

Another Brazilian young worker was shot by the MP but he survived. This happened in Rio de Janeiro. The worker is a sports journalist who was coming back home from work on February 24. The police officers shot and leaved him seriously injured. According to the police statement, they confused this worker with a “bandit”. AND reports a harsh truth: “Cases as this one make clear that (…), the population specially black and from the periphery, has more possibilities to face attacks by police officers (…) and these facts will be labeled as simple “confusions” or unfortunate “coincidences”.
