AGEB: Take to the Streets on the 1st of May Against Imperialism, Fascism and Exploitation!

Hereby we share an unofficial translation of an article published by the Union of Migrant Workers in Europe – AGEB.

The 1st of May, Day of Unity, Struggle and Working Class Solidarity, is a day of rebellion and struggle against the exploitation and capital oppression. As comrade Lenin expressed, it is a day on which you celebrate “the awakening of the class consciousness of the workers in all the countries, whose solidarity in the struggle against all kinds of oppression and exploitation of men by men, and the struggles of millions of workers to liberate themselves from hunger, poverty and humiliation”. This day is to commemorate with the same vitality and spirit of struggle. The working class and all toilers take to the streets on this historic date, with the consciousness of the necessity of unification, acting organized and struggling against the system of exploitation, to present the ideal of a world without classes and exploitation.

Workers, worker’s friends; the contradictions between the imperialists continue growing. On the one hand the imperialists of the USA and from the EU, and on the other hand the imperialists of China and Russia, are intensifying the wars for power in parallel to the repartition of the markets. The imperialist capitalist system tries to control its deep crisis with the wars and occupations, like in Ukraine, Middle East and many other areas. Nevertheless every realized movement is intensifying even more the crisis and contradictions. The more the crisis is intensifying, the attacks increase, what brings more unemployment for the workers, cheap workforce, flexible work, increase of prices, greater poverty and misery.

The Burden of the Crisis is charged upon the Working Class’ Shoulders

Alongside the crisis, there is being waged an intense offensive against the working class and all toilers. Millions of workers, who work in the informal economy, in unstable work and without social rights get exploited ruthlessly without organization. The inequality in the salary based on inequality of gender is increasing. The opportunities of the young people to acquire abilities and to find employment are getting more and more difficult, and those who work are getting exploited on big scale with low salaries. In all countries of Europe the rights of the working class and the toilers that have been conquered through great struggles, are getting restricted or abolished.

Let´s Intensify the Struggle Against Racism and Discrimination

Meanwhile the dominant classes increase the wars and occupations, they nurture the racism and the chauvinism inside the countries, dividing and pitting the working masses through dividing policies. The growing racism is permitting the fascist and reactionary parties gain power. The racist and discriminating policies are being developed and put in action by the state itself. The racism and the chauvinism is being used as tools to consolidate the masses in the inside and to nurture a possible war atmosphere.

Let’s Intensify the Struggle Against the Imperialist Wars, Exploitation and Repression

The accumulated indignation of the working masses against exploitation, oppression, unjust wars and all injustice that they are living is emerging like a wave that strikes the surface, bringing the indignation to the streets. Lets embrace the 1st of May with the consciousness of truthful liberation that lies in the destruction of this imperialist capitalist system, leading the growing response of the masses against the system. Let’s struggle against the warmongering policies of the imperialism and its attacks against our social and economic rights.

As the Union of Migrant Workers in Europe we take to the streets in a massive and militant manner against the attacks that we are facing, let’s take ourselves the 1st of May with organized and revolutionary spirit.

Down with Imperialism, Fascism and all kinds of Reaction!

Workers of all countries and peoples of the world, unite!

Long live the 1st of May!

Biji 1 Gulan!
