The Brazil-Palestine Institute and AND call out for a national event against Zionist censure
Hereby we publish an unofficial translation of the call of A Nova Democracia for a national event against Zionism.
With the parole “Not a step back: Stop the extermination in Gaza and the Zionist intervention in Brasil”, the Brasil-Palestine Institute (IBRASPAL) and the newspaper A Nova Democracia, call for a National Event in Rio de Janeiro on the 27th of May, to condemn and stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip and the persecution of the fundamental rights of those who defend Palestine in Brasil. The Manifesto of the Call highlights that there are many cases of persecution and violations of the basic rights, as for example the right of opinion, expression, organization and press, or those who dare to denunciate the crimes of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government against the civil population in Gaza. “The violations, restrictions and limitations on the civil rights and democratic liberties, from anonymous threats against democratic people, up to police and judicial harassment are increasing in Brazil driven by the direct intervention of foreign Nazi-Zionist entities and organisms, through espionage nets, using the police forces of the Brazilian State, its institutions, jurisdictional system and even the major monopoly press in the fatherland”, states the document.
Cases like the one of the activist and popular communicator, Thiago Ávila who got threatened with death and harassed by the police institutions of the old Brazilian State. Breno Altman and the AND itself, who got harassed and threatened for their pro-Palestinan journalistic work. The union of construction workers of Belo Horizonte und the Metropolitan region – whose leaders got threatened – and those of the Party of the Workers Cause – treated, by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of RJ, as an “Islamic” and “terrorist” organization – are just some of those listed in the Manifesto.
The document states: “We are living a sad spectacle in which Brazilian policemen and State prosecutors are being instrumentalized, these lackeys of the FBI and of other north American secret services and Nazi-Zionists of the butcher Netanyahu on Brazilian soil, to make the political persecution and attack the freedom of speech, right of opinion and organization – acting against the own constitution – for example in the case of professor Muslim Abuumar and three other Brazilians, that are being accused of being part of the Hezbollah (an organization that according to Brazilian jurisdiction is not classified terrorist). That is happening in front of the federal government, that is refusing to break up the diplomatic and economic relations with ‘Israel’, as well as it is not doing anything to denounce the disgusting crimes of Nazi-Zionist Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile criticizing in words the genocide in the Gaza Strip. Also in the same manner the institutions, like the public ministry or the federal police, who are under the charge of the federal government, are not taking any haste in investigating the the death threats against pro-Palestinian activists, stopping and punishing the war criminals in Brazil, that are boasting themselves in killing dozens of Arabic Palestinian – like the case of the Israeli Soldiers, participants of the genocide in Gaza, who filmed their own toast during their holidays at the Morro de São Paulo: ‘Amen, and may all Arabs die!’, while smiling like hyenas in a disgusting atmosphere”.
