Political event against Zionism and censure in Brazil: Workers, Students and Peasants join the Manifesto
Hereby we share an unofficial translation of a new information on this important event that will take place in Brazil on 27th of May. We have reported yesterday on this event:
Organizations of workers and peasants are joining the Manifesto called “Not a step back: Stop the extermination in Gaza and the Zionist intervention in Brazil”, that was released by the Brazil-Palestine Institute together with A Nova Democracia, as a call for a national political event that will take place on 27th of May in Rio de Janeiro.
The Leagues of Poor Peasants – peasant organization for the struggle for Land, that is acting in the whole country and recognized for its leadership in West Amazonas – signed the Manifesto. The Workers’ League, organization of toilers, and the Movement of Class-Conscious Education Workers (MOCLATE) also signed.
Other class-conscious organizations that jointed the call of the event and the manifesto were the Revolutionary Toilers’ Front (FRT) and the Communist Party of Brazilian Workers (PCTB). The Toilers’ Tribune, a radio program that brought back class-conscious education to the construction workers, also joined the event.
There has been a strong support by the students movement, for example by the national executive of pedagogy students (ExNEPe) of the academic directory of physics José Roberto Tagliati of the federal university of Juiz de Fora, the academic center of social studies Lélia Gonzalez, the central directory of de students of the federal university of Fronteira Sul– Campus Laranjeiras do Sul. Other students organizations like the People’s Sunrise, Red Mangrove, Collective Sons of the People, Caracara collective and Revolutionary People’s Student Movement (MEPR) – also have joined the declaration.
All in all, the Manifesto proclaims: “it is urgent, that all democrats and progressives, all oppressed and exploited, the working class, the peasantry, small and intermediate landowners with progressive mentality, students, professors and honest intellectuals, take position and mobilize to stop the mass murderer Benjamin Netanyahu, in support to the Palestinian National Resistance and its fighting organizations for the national liberty“, because “not doing so is being complice of these war criminals”.
