Brazil: Palestine Support Committees Join the Political Event Against Zionism and Censorship

Hereby we share an unofficial translation of an article of A Nova Democracia.

A lot of organizations and committees of solidarity with Palestine in al of the country in the last three days the manifesto “Not a step back: Stop the extinguishing in Gaza and the Zionist intervention in Brasil”, published by the Brazil-Palestine Institute (IBRASPAL) together with the newspaper A Nova Democracia.

In addition to IBRASPAL, that made the call out for the political event, the organizational commission of the International Anti-imperialist League in Brazil (CoLAI-Brasil), Samidoun – Solidaritynetwork of Palestinian Prisoners, the Revolutionary Front in Defense of the People’s Rights (FRDDP), the Free Palestine Front of SC, the organization Friends of Palestine, the Committee for Peace in Palestine, against the genocide and apartheid, the Anti-imperialist Committee general Abreu e Lima, the Solidarity Committee for the People of Palestine – Distrito Federal, Gaúcha Front of Solidarity for Palestine, Arabs and Jews for Peace, Cearense Support for Palestinian Resistance, the Mineiro Committee of Palestine Solidarity, the Committee of Solidarity to the Palestinian People (Goiás), the Maringaense Committee of Support for the Struggle of the Palestinian People, and the United Committee in Solidarity to Palestine Arapongas and Apucarana have also joined.

Additionally to the mentioned organizations, important figures close to the Palestinian or Arab Community have joined the call of the political event Yasser Jamil Fayad (coordinator of the Liberation of Palestine Movement – Ghassan Kanafani), Muhamad Husein (coordinator of the University Network of Solidarity to the Palestinian People), Mansur Peixoto (Creator and administrator of the project Islamic History), Carol Almeida ( film investigator and curator), and doctor Abdel Latif Hasan and his spouse Jamile Abdel Latif – both prominent members of the Palestinian community in Brazil – were some of those who supported the call.

You may read the Manifesto for the Event here. Until now more than 60 organizations, movements, entities and personalities have signed the Manifest. To sign it, it is necessary to fill out the formulary in the Manifesto. The political event will take place on the 27th of May in Rio de Janeiro. The address of location will be published soon.
