We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report on repression unleashed by the Swiss bourgeois State against an important event organized by Partizan.

THE SWISS STATE HAS BANNED OUR BASEL EVENT! NO POWER CAN STOP US FROM EMBRACING THE PATH OF İBRAHİM KAYPAKKAYA, LET’S BESIEGE THE BESIEGERS!

Every year, April and May are intensified with activities and works to commemorate and embrace COMMUNIST LEADER İBRAHİM KAYPAKKAYA. This is a tradition and has not been interrupted for nearly 50 years. The event we were going to be held on April 27, 2025, in Basel, Switzerland with the slogan “Defeat Fascism and Imperialism with the Courage of İbrahim Kaypakkaya” was banned by the Swiss State.

The ruling powers’ fear of İbrahim Kaypakkaya does not diminish over the years, it GROWS MUCH MORE. Not only Comrade İbrahim’s ideas but also his photograph frightens reactionaries. Reivindicating him is seen as a threat. The ruling classes make special efforts to ban the reivindication of Comrade İbrahim and the spread of his ideas wherever they are in the world. We are faced with such an attack once again. The Swiss State announced that it has banned the hall where we will hold an event on Thursday, April 24, for flimsy reasons. We were faced with an approach that disregarded its own laws and regulations.

The world imperialist system is becoming more reactionary every day. It is increasing its attacks on the people and the organized forces of the people. Bourgeois democracy has become a shirt that is too tight for States all over the world. Fundamental rights and freedoms are under constant attack. WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS.

By canceling our event to commemorate Comrade İbrahim Kaypakkaya, the Swiss State THOUGHT that it would prevent us from embracing the path of İBRAHİM. No prohibition, ban, oppression, or lawlessness CAN, and WILL NOT, prevent us from embracing the path of COMRADE İBRAHİM!

Following this development, many organizations in Switzerland mobilized with the spirit of revolutionary solidarity. We decided to hold our event in the association hall of our Patriotic friends. Our event has now turned into a protest stance, a STRONGER ACTION OF OWNING KAYPAKKAYA.

It is time to besiege the besiegers!

Repelling and thwarting this attack has become a fundamental democratic and revolutionary duty.

THE SWISS STATE DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO BAN our event due to the venue cancellation decision.

WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN THE EVENT.

WE CALL ON ALL DEMOCRATS TO TAKE A STANCE TO SUPPORT IBRAHIM AND PROTECT OUR RIGHTS AGAINST THIS ATTACK.

WE CALL ON ALL REVOLUTIONARY ORGANIZATIONS TO HOLD OUR ACTIVITY MORE STRONGLY.

WE INVITE ALL ANTI-FASCISTS AND ALL ANTI-IMPERIALISTS TO TAKE ACTION WITH THE CONSCIOUSNESS THAT PROTECTING THE İBRAHİM KAYPAKKAYA EVENT MEANS PROTECTING FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS TODAY.
