Protest in Chile in front of the US Embassy in support to Palestine
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report that we have received.
On April 25, various organizations, such as Palestinian community collectives in Chile, among them, democratic and revolutionary organizations, called for a demonstration in the city of Santiago under the slogan “Besiege the embassies, towards the U.S. bunker of Israel” to condemn the attacks by the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip and to support the Palestinian masses resisting the invasion and genocide disguised as a “fight against terrorism.”
The demonstration was successful, lasting for at least two hours and at its peak the avenue adjacent to the U.S. embassy was completely blocked despite the presence of the police presence.
Slogans were shouted: “Israel will fall, Palestine will win!”, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!”, “Trump, murderer of the Palestinian people!”, “No more deaths of innocent children!”, “Out of Chile, out of Argentina, out Zionists from Latin America!”, among others.
A team from the newspaper El Pueblo attended to document the protest, where a debate took place regarding pacifism and the need to promote a consistent anti-imperialist line under proletarian ideology. This discussion occurred among the masses, leading to some reflections from the attendees.
It is worth noting that at this demonstration, El Pueblo newspaper officially declared its commitment to work towards the formation of an anti-imperialist organization in Chile, following the guidelines of the new Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), which will gradually be introduced amid the class struggle and the struggle of two lines. In this context, a leaflet was distributed to nearly all attendees with the following information:
“Let’s work towards the formation of an Anti-Imperialist Front in Chile!
The Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) defines itself as an anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, anti-fascist, anti-feudal organization that opposes imperialism, fascism, racism, discrimination, and all forms of reaction. The AIL considers the imperialist system to be the source of all the problems we face; therefore, its struggle is not limited to combating the visible negative consequences but also seeks to eliminate the causes of those consequences.
The struggle of the Palestinian National Liberation Forces against occupation and colonialism is just and legitimate!
All imperialists and reactionaries are paper tigers!
Long live the struggle for national independence of the Palestinian National Liberation Forces!
Eternal honor and glory to comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez!
The cause of the war is not the Palestinians, but Israeli Zionism and its imperialist supporters. The Zionist State of Israel has been waging a colonial war against the Palestinian people for decades to usurp the land that rightfully belongs to them.
