Actions on occasion of the Nakba’s 77th Anniversary

May 15 marks the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, the massive eviction, dispossession and mass ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population in 1948. On occasion of this day demonstrations and many actions of all kind have taken place around the world. We hereby share only some examples.
In Palestine different Resistance Factions such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) have issued statements:
Partizan has carried out many actions in Turkey. Has joined calls for mobilizations and mobilized for them in proletarian and people’s neighborhoods:
Partizan is also part of the End Occupation in Palestine Platform of Ankara which issued a statement on the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, which has been read out on the streets:
Hundreds marched in Istanbul following the call of the Palestine Action Committee. The main banner was written in Turkish, Arabic and English, and the slogan was “Nakba will end, Palestine will be free!”. Partizan marched with the banner “Nakba will end, Freedom for Palestine will come with the People’s War”.

In Mexico a call by the Current of the People Red Sun and the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) has been issued to make actions on occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Nakba:
In Brazil organizations such as the Institute Brazil-Palestine (Ibraspal) and the Arab Palestine Federation of Brazil (Fepal) issued statements which can be read in A Nova Democracia:
In France many organizations have issued statements, calls and many mobilizations took place. The Unitary Campaign for the Liberation of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah (CUPLGIA) participated and called for several mobilizations:
The Fédération Syndical Étudiante (FSE) has issued a poster:
The FSE Nanterre participated in a joint bloc along with the Ligue de la Jéunesse Révolutionnaire (LJR), the CUPLGIA and Jeunes Révolutionnaires (JR):
In Bordeaux the Committee ActionPalestine has organized a demonstration:
In Aalborg, Denmark, an event was organized at the 1000Fryd Cafe, organized by Anti-Imperialist Action and Friends of Palestine. The program consisted of a presentation about the history of Nakba and the film screening of the documentary Tantura:
In Copenhague dazibaos and posters were put up, and leaflets spread in the proletarian neighborhood of Tingbjerg and Brønshøj. Local mobilizations were held in these neighborhoods:
Afterwards a large demonstration took place. Danish police was massively mobilized and also Swedish police attended the demonstration due to the presence of Swedish protesters. The demonstration was massive and banners and Palestinian flags were hanged up from windows and balconies:
In Tampere, Finland, the Anti-Imperialist Collective (AIC) participated in a demonstration. The AIC distributed leaflets calling to reject pacifism and illusions about the “progressive” potential of Finnish imperialism and calling to the unconditional support for the armed resistance of the Palestinian people.
The group Students for Palestine organized a day protest camp in the main building of the University of Helsinki, calling to the academic boycott to Israel. The protesters confronted the police harassment. While the eviction of the students, four of them were arbitrarily arrested and clashed with the police:
In Trondheim and Kristiansand, Norway, mobilizations marking the Nakba Day took place. Kampkomiteen participated in those mobilizations and participating in a cultural event along with a Palestinian group were songs, dances, poetry readings and appeals were carried out:
Die Rote Fahne Austria has reported on a protest against the joint work between the universities and Israel, protested also in solidarity with the accused French activist Alex, and on occasion of the Nakba anniversary:
In Germany more than 50 people were arrested in the demonstration in Berlin-Kreuzberg on occasion of the demonstration for the Nakba day.
