Norway: General Secretary of CPI (Maoist) reportedly killed

We share an unofficial translation of the article published by Tjen Folket Media.

The Home Minister of the old Indian state declared on May 21 that the reactionary armed forces have killed Comrade Basavaraj, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) – CPI (Maoist).

“It’s not time to be sad, Comrades, it’s time to rise like a fire!”
– Charu Mazumdar

Revolutionary media have been waiting to publish the news, as the old Indian reactionary State and its media are systematically lying and distorting the truth about the People’s War in India. Comrade Basavaraj is said to have been killed along with at least 26 other comrades. Now a number of reliable sources have published the news and sister parties in other countries, such as Turkey and the Philippines, have sent their condolences and greetings to the comrades in India.

The reactionary media reports that the Comrade was killed in a battle between a unit of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), responsible for the security of the General Secretary, and the counter-insurgency forces of the District Reserve Guard (DRG). Conflicting versions of what actually happened are still being published, indicating that the old Indian state’s version is false.

Our comrades in the Red Herald write that normally reliable sources state that what happened was a “fake encounter” – a method used by the old state to cover up massacres and murders as acts of war between warring parties. Furthermore, the comrades write that the reactionaries also often spread false claims of having killed revolutionary leaders, and that this is why they themselves have waited to make the news public, until they had more reliable sources.

The comrades also warn against relying on “biographies” and other information from the reactionary media or the old state, and write that out of respect they are waiting for such information until the Party itself – CPI (Maoist) – has made a statement, because only the Party manages the truth about its General Secretary.

Eternal glory to Comrade Basavaraj!

We join the comrades of the Red Herald in stating that even the loss of the Comrade General Secretary of the Party, which is of course a major blow to the revolutionary movement, cannot prevent the Communist Party of India (Maoist) from continuing to develop the People’s War, and defeating “Operation Kagar” and all other plots in defense of the old order, with a firm grasp on the gun, under the banner of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.

The Comrades of the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist write that Comrade Basavaraj and the other martyrs are immortal and live on in the People’s War. The comrades of the Communist Party of the Philippines write that Comrade Basavaraj, by carrying the torch that is the armed struggle in India, helped to light the way for the world proletarian revolution.

Progressive forces around the world will honor the life and legacy of Comrade Basavaraj by intensifying work in support of the People’s War in India and rallying around the Indian Maoists to final victory.

Comrade Basavaraj will live forever in the struggle of the international proletariat, in the great red and beating heart of the class, and he will be remembered when reactionaries like Modi and his lackeys are long forgotten.

Tjen Folket Media extends its greetings and condolences to the Communist Party of India (Maoist), the fighters in the PLGA and the masses fighting under the leadership of the Party. We send our strongest appeal to all revolutionaries and anti-imperialists in Norway: Show your support for the Indian comrades, for the People’s War in India and honor the memory of Comrade Basavaraj!

Eternal glory to Comrade Basavaraj!

Victory to the People’s War in India!

Long live the Communist Party of India (Maoist)!
