Peru: Pronouncement by SUTEP Azapara Base

Hereby we publish an unofficial translation of an article published by Nuevo Peru.

With profound enthusiasm and optimism, we express our class greetings to the teachers and the public opinion, Sute Base Azapara of the district of San Marcos Rocchac, of the province of Tayacaja, of the region Huancavelica, to express the following:

The congress approved the law number 32242, that is against the constitution and teachers, that is short cutting the working rights and the State is implementing the form that is harming the the fundamental rights of the national teachers, that is implementing hatred against us, who exercises the noble labor of forming conscience in the future generations, that it doesn’t recognize essential constitutional principles, like equality before law, presumption of innocence and the right of a work with dignity. The law number N° 32242 approved by the state, is en favoring presidents, ministers, MP’s, functionaries and delinquents who are involved in acts of corruption, assassination and other proved crimes, bringing them privileges and inclusively parliamentary immunity; meanwhile they get rid of the fundamental rights of the teachers and the most vulnerable sectors.

Facing this problem, the teachers of the north-east, through their glorious and combative SUTEP with class conscious line, have the task to reorganize, with teachers that have proved class conscious conviction, with perspective of a National Strike, that has the objective of defending our rights. But neither with the cheap, yellow, sold leaders, opportunists, traitors nor conciliators.

In opposite to the bourgeoisie the proletariat wants the progress and struggle for finish with this system of oppression and exploitation to construct an other system. For it the struggle for the end of this world: get the humanity from the realm of necessity and construct the realm of harmony and liberty, where is no oppression nor exploitation, only this way the ‘prehistory’ will come to end and the true history of mankind will begin.

This is the conception and the goal of the proletariat. We have an obligation to push it forward and to stick to it. Therefore, “the union is… the form of natural and rational organization of the workers, the only one that can defend their rights, the only capable to represent their interests before the capital” (JC Mariátegui, Ideology and Politics, page 199) [Translator’s note: translated from the original].

We the workers in the educational system, facing the exploiters, have to assume this form of worshiped union organization of the proletariat for the unconditional defense and the amplification of our working, social and political achievements; stick together firmly, to the class conscious unionism and its universal principle: the class struggle.
