On June 7, ten years have passed since the repression against the popular movement in Oaxaca, where the arbitrary detention of 23 members of theCurrent of the People Red Sun was recorded. They were accused of terrorism and possession of explosives reserved for the Mexican army and were subsequently transferred to federal prisons.
In this regard, our Democratic Organization carried out a week of agitation and propaganda, sharing the chronicle and images of this event. This campaign culminated in a united political act attended by both former political prisoners and their families, the family of Dr. Ernesto Sernas García, activists from CP-Red Sun, as well as members of sister organizations such as the Assembly of Indigenous Peoples of the Isthmus in Defense of Land and Territory (APIIDTT), the Oaxacan Movement for Democratic Left (MOID), the Popular Front 14 de Junio, and Section XXII of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE), which announced the suspension of its national strike that had begun on May 15, among others. Additionally, greetings were read from comrades of the Communist Reconstitution Committee-Tamaulipas and the Popular Front of the Mountain of Guerrero, who were unable to attend the event. Ten years after the repression of June 7, 2015: We demand compliance with recommendation 05/2018 and punishment for the guilty! We demand the presentation of our defense lawyer, Dr. Ernesto Sernas García, alive!
At the same time, we inform that on the same June 7, our Democratic Organization attended as a guest the “FORUM FOR THE DEFENSE OF TERRITORY AND AGRARIAN RIGHTS OF COMMUNITIES AND PEASANTS OF THE OAXACAN COAST,” held on June 7, 2025, in Playa de Salchi, Cuatunalco, San Pedro Pochutla, from which an important declaration has emerged. Among the signing organizations are comrades from CODEDI, CODEPO, APIIDTT, EDUCA, among others. The beaches belong to the people! The land is not for sale; it is defended! Let us continue to contribute to the construction of a United Front to stop the war against the people!
