Brazil: Peasants Call for a Public Event in the Revolutionary Area José Ricardo

We hereby share a translation of a call published by A Nova Democracia (AND).

The League of Poor Peasants (LCP) has called for a public event on July 6 at 9 a.m. in the Revolutionary Area José Ricardo. The event will be a powerful demonstration of solidarity with the peasants of the Revolutionary Area Gedeon José Duque, who have been targeted in recent months by various attacks from gunmen and police in the service of large landowners and affiliated with the paramilitary movement “Invasão Zero.”

In April, the area received a solidarity mission of lawyers, doctors, students, and activists. The members of the mission were able to assess how the gunmen damaged homes and crops, attacked peasants, and even injured domestic and farm animals.
