Hereby we publish an unofficial translation of the Mexico article of the Weekly Newsletter of SolRojista.
Last 8th of August in Michoacán the comrades of the Supreme Indigenous Council of Michoacán (CSIM) have realized an important day of mobilizations in different places of the State, blocking highways on at least 8 points. Two of their central demands in their petition was: liberty for the forest defense activist, comrade María Cruz Paz Zamora, who is detained since the 5th of June od 2024 and the creation of a commission of truth for the disappeared and murdered persons of the Púrhépecha people, among others. The actions claimed also the anniversary of General Emiliano Zapata and the International Day of indigenous Peoples.
In Chiapas the Meeting of Resistances and Rebellions “Some Parts of All”, that was summoned by the Zapatist Army of National Liberation (EZLN), is still ongoing. For now, the website EnlaceZapatista has published resumes of the realized activities.
On the 8th and 9th of August was successfully carried out the Meeting of Authorities and Topiles that was summoned by the League of Communities for the Agrarian Revolution and Current of the People Red Sun, in Oaxaca. 133 persons participated, all of them local and agrarian authorities, and leaders of Topiles and communitarian police, coming from 13 communities of at least 8 municipalities. In these the peoples are making the call for political development of the three fundamental criteria for the liberation of territories and exercising the New Power’s embryos. We will share soon the report and the politic declaration of this Meeting.
