Spanish State: May Day on the Outskirts of Madrid
We hereby share an unofficial translation of the 1st of May report published by the Revolutionary Committees of the Spanish State.
For the sixth consecutive year, Corredor en Lucha organized a militant demonstration in the Corredor del Henares, a major industrial region on the outskirts of Madrid. Around 500 people gathered under the slogan “The working class and the peoples of the world against imperialism” at the demonstration, which took place this year in Torrejón de Ardoz. The march began at 11:30 a.m. at the Renfe commuter train station (Plaza España) and ended at Parque del Juncal.

The newspaper Servir al Pueblo published the press conference held by the organizers on Tuesday, April 28, a few days before the demonstration.
During the march, militant slogans were chanted and leaflets were handed out to residents, who responded enthusiastically. The Revolutionary Committee of Madrid marched with a banner bearing the slogan “It is right to rebel!” along with its own flags and the flag of the International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL). Also participating in the march were relatives of Abderrahim, who was murdered by the police several months ago and whose family has been fighting for justice through the Justice for Abderrahim campaign ever since. Abderrahim’s sister gave a speech during the demonstration.

At the end of the rally, several groups and organizations had the opportunity to say a few words. A comrade from the Revolutionary Committee of Madrid gave a speech on the need to fight against imperialism and to build the Anti-Imperialist League:
Once the speeches were over, the concerts scheduled for the afternoon began. Food and drinks were available at affordable prices. The Madrid Revolutionary Committee, as a co-organizer of May Day, set up a table with propaganda materials.
