Increasing Israeli Casualties in Lebanon

Since the State of Israel started its most recent operations against Lebanon, it has failed in all its objectives, suffering in the process increasing casualties. As several bourgeois media reports point out, Israeli military officers had also acknowledged that Hezbollah’s remaining military capabilities contradicted earlier assessments that the group had supposedly faced an “overwhelming defeat.” There are also increasing reports on the challenge that the drones used by the Lebanese resistance pose for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Amidst increasing casualties, the State of Israel keeps breaching the ceasefire with Lebanon and murdering civilians. At least six people were murdered and several others wounded on Monday 11th of May, as Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of attacks targeting multiple areas in southern Lebanon, concentrated in the Nabatieh district. Israel targeted paramedics while they were transporting civilians.

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes across Lebanon on Wednesday 13th of May morning, murdering at least eight people, including two children, in a major escalation despite an ongoing ceasefire.

Between Thursday 14th of May and Friday 15th of May, at least six people were murdered and 22 others wounded, as Israeli attacks struck several areas across southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency. Artillery shelling targeted several towns in the Tyre district.

On Tuesday the 12th of May, Lebanese authorities announced that at least 380 people — including 22 children — have been murdered by Israeli attacks since the ceasefire came into effect on April 17, excluding casualties from the latest raids in Nabatieh. The death-toll on Saturday 16th of May, was, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, 2,951 people murdered and 8,988 wounded since March 2.

The resistance has inflicted increasing casualties over the past week. On Monday an Israeli sergeant was eliminated near the settlement of Manara, close to the Lebanese border.

On Wednesday Hezbollah launched what Israeli security officials described as the largest and most coordinated drone assault carried out against Israel to date. Hezbollah said it carried out multiple operations between Thursday evening and Friday dawn targeting Israeli military forces, vehicles and equipment. The State of Israel acknowledged the killing of another sergeant on Friday midst clashes in southern Lebanon, and several armored vehicles as well as bulldozers were targeted by attacks by Hezbollah.

On Saturday the Israeli army announced the death of a Golani Brigade platoon commander in southern Lebanon, as he died from injuries sustained in a Hezbollah drone attack. Another Israeli soldier was wounded after a drone exploded.

Hezbollah released several videos of combat operations, which show extensive operations targeting Israeli troop concentrations, armored vehicles, surveillance systems, and military positions across southern Lebanon. Among these vehicles, a direct hit against a Merkava tank took place.
