Netherlands: Activists Protest the Presence of Narendra Modi in The Hague
We hereby share the article issued by REBEL!, from the Netherlands on the action carried out in The Hague, published on the 17th of May.
Say no to the India-EU Free Trade Agreement! Stop the Imperialist Loot!
On May 16th, a demonstration was held against fascist Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited The Hague to discuss an India-Netherlands trade deal. The action was organized by Revolutionaire Actie (Revolutionary Action), Rotterdam Front for Liberation, ILPS, and Maya Solidarity, with the support of the progressive Indian diaspora.
The demonstration took place next to the Huis ten Bosch palace, where Modi was warmly received by the King of the Netherlands for lunch. The irony that the same city hosts the International Criminal Court, a supposed bastion of justice, was not lost on the demonstrators. Speeches from Revolutionaire Actie, Rotterdam Front for Liberation, ILPS, and Indian diaspora members highlighted the multi-pronged onslaught of Brahmanical Hindutva fascism on the Indian workers, peasants, youth, women, religious minorities, oppressed castes, and oppressed nationalities like Kashmir and Manipur. The comprador nature of India’s ruling class was exposed, drawing the connection with the deal currently being negotiated and the increasing immiseration of the Indian masses. The importance of actively organizing a revolutionary movement in the Netherlands that can extend solidarity with the Indian masses was highlighted.

Slogans were raised in support of the revolution in India, for the self-determination of the Kashmiri people, and against Brahmanical Hindutva fascism and its agent, Narendra Modi. Attempts by fascist supporters of Modi, in collaboration with the Indian embassy and its employees, to intimidate the demonstrators were resisted.
Long live the resistance of the Indian and Kashmiri people!
Death to Brahmanical Hindutva fascism!
Victory to the masses in the global struggle against imperialism!
