The old Indian State Targets Again Vernon Gonsalves and Arun Ferreira

The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) is attacking the activists Vernon Gonsalves and Arun Ferreira, accused in the Elgar Parishad Case. The NIA seeks to cancel the bail of the activists, using the same reason as the one recently used against Varavara Rao and Sudha Bharadwaj.
The public prosecutor alleges that both activists actively participated in the meeting of the Mumbai Press Club on January 19. The NIA stated that while granting bail, the court imposed restrictions from making contact with co-accused or any person linked to the Elgar Parishad Case.
This is yet another attempt by the old Indian State through the NIA and the public prosecutor to criminalize democratic voices. The old State officials stated that this meeting in Mumbai was organized to “propagate the ideology of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and deliberate on future plans for expanding the ‘urban naxal’ movement”.
