Yankee imperialism has carried out a new attack on Venezuelan territory. On Sunday 15th, the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, stated that United States will continue their military presence in Venezuela.
On June 12th, Donald Trump announced on his social media the killing of the alleged leader of Tren de Aragua, Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, in a “joint operation” carried out by the US Southern Command in the Bolívar province in Venezuela.
This represents the second major US military intervention in the Latin American country this year, following the kidnapping of the president Nicolás Maduro on January 3rd. The traitorous interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, has since increased the presence of Yankee imperialism in the country, confirming that this “joint” operation was carried out with the intelligence service and technological support of the US.
According to A Nova Democracia: “The operation also follows other recent acts of US interference in Venezuela and of submission by Delcy Rodríguez’s interim government, such as the extradition of Alex Saab to the US and how the US military exercise in Caraca was conducted following the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro. Guerrero’s death is now part of this series of concessions to imperialism’s regional policy.”
Pete Hegseth, has made further statements after this operation. In an interview with press media, he declared that the active US military presence will continue in Latin America under the “war on drugs”. To carry this operation, the recently formed Americas Counter Cartel “Coalition”, better known as “Shield of the Americas” will be the main means used by Yankee imperialism in its attempts to expand its dominance over Latin America. In his declarations, Hegseth added that similar operations may be expected in countries such as Ecuador or Guatemala.
