Bangladesh: The NDPF Expresses Solidarity with the Tea Workers Strike

The tea workers are currently struggling in Bangladesh for several improvements, such as an increase to the minimum daily wage, union elections and other economical benefits, Revolutionary Student-Youth Movement (RSYM) reports. The strike caused concern among the bourgeoisie because the months from June to September are considered the peak period for the tea production.

The New Democratic People’s Front (NDPF) expressed its full solidarity with the protesting workers, condemned the inhuman living and working conditions of the workers, and called them “to join the revolutionary movement to change this system” (unofficially translated by us).
