The Anti-Imperialist Front (FAI) – Chile, has announced that it has concluded its campaign commemorating the 15th anniversary of the murder of Manuel Gutiérrez. Manuel, a 16-year-old student, was shot dead by Sergeant Miguel Millacura, who used an UZI to repress the demonstration in the Jaime Eyzaguirre neighborhood of the Macul district. These protests took place during the national strike on August 24 and 25, 2011, calling for free education. This police officer was never imprisoned. FAI-Chile reports that agitation actions took place in La Serena, Curicó, and Santiago, in which they also led a demonstration together with the Class-Conscious and Popular Coordination.

The Anti-Imperialist Student Nucleus hung a large banner at the Mall Valle shopping center in Curicó, condemning the murder of Manuel Gutiérrez, as well as the recent murder of the rapper Vejetal by paramilitaries:

Additionally the FAI-Chile has carried out agitation actions in La Serena, where they put up posters and distributed leaflets.
