September 9: Commemorations of Chairman Mao

On September 9, many commemorations of Chairman Mao were carried out on the 50th anniversary of his death. We hereby share some of these commemorations.

In Bangladesh, several commemorations were carried out, one such being a rally and march in Rajshahi.
Revolutionary Student-Youth Movement, reports in a press release on their Facebook page on an additional event organized by their Chittagong Metropolitan Branch and the Revolutionary Workers’ Movement on September 11.
Revolutionary Student-Youth Movement of Bangladesh also reports of a commemoration organized by them in Upazila, in Khulna District, on September 11.
Revolutionary Student Front (RSF) of India published a note on their Facebook page commemorating Chairman Mao on the 50th anniversary of his death. Their post reads:
“Today is the 50th death anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong, one of the Five Great Teachers of the Proletariat. Millions of red salutes to Comrade Mao Zedong.”
The International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) – Ecuador published a commemorative poster on their Instagram account.
Yeni Demokrasi of Turkey published a commemorative poster on their Instagram account.
League of Communist Action Mexico City published a commemorative poster on their Instagram account.
