Annual Pilgrimage to Grave of the Father of Irish Republicanism
On Sunday the 27th of July, the Revolutionary Irish Socialist Republican Movement organized an event in Sallins, Co. Kildare in Ireland, for the Annual Commemoration of the Father of Irish Republicanism, Theobald Wolfe Tone, at his grave.
The event faced State’s repression, while and after the commemoration, the participants got surveilled, the Special Branch of the Stormtroopers of the Free State pursued acts of harassment and intimidation, taking of names and followed some of the participants to their homes.
Next to young activists, also old republican veterans participated in the event. Some who also fought for the liberation of Ireland since the 1960‘s.
In the end, the Revolutionary Irish Socialist Republican Movement present, held a minute of silence for all of those who fought and fell for the Irish National Liberation.
