Colombia: Combative Mobilization in Medellin Commemorates Al-Aqsa Flood

Revolutionary and people’s movements, along with pro-Palestine activists took to the streets in Medellin, this 7th of October on occasion of the 2nd Anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood.

The newspaper Nueva Democracia explains that “The day stood out as one of the largest demonstrations held in Medellin in the last two years and for its combativeness against large monopolies, particularly McDonald’s, a sponsor of the Israeli occupation forces and therefore of the genocide in Palestine.” Among the combative actions, Israeli and US flags, and effigies of Trump and Netanyahu were burnt.

Nueva Democracia reports of attempts to stop and repress the demonstration by a group affiliated with the Medellin mayor’s office, consisting mainly of civilians, mostly retired members of the repressive forces. This group acted in collaboration with the State repressive forces, who attacked the demonstration and brutally beat a young man:
