We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report shared on Avrupa Haber on the November 25th demonstration in London.
A massive march was held in London, England, on November 25th, the International Day of Solidarity and the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
In the march, which was organized by many women’s organizations, including the Purple-Red Collective, it was denounced through slogans such as “Jin, jiyan, azadî!” and “Woman, life, freedom!”, all kinds of oppression and attacks on women’s lives by the male-dominated system.
In a speech, it was stated that at least 80 thousand women are murdered by male violence every year around the world, and that the male-dominated system is carrying out a joint and organized attack on women in different geographies.
A period in which attacks against women are deepening and massacres of women are increasing, especially in Turkey and Turkish Kurdistan, and therefore a call for struggle and organization has been made.
The speech ended with slogans such as “Long live women’s struggle!” and “Jin, jiyan, azadî!”
