Current of the People – Red Sun Celebrates 18 years of Political Work and 9 Years of Public Life
Current of the People – Red Sun has recently celebrated 18 years of political work and 9 years of public life as a democratic organization for the construction of the People’s Front in the service of the New Democratic Revolution in Mexico. In this occasion, the organization has held an important meeting in its Central Direction, together with other organizations, to analyze the international and national context in the class struggle and its works.
The meeting addressed topics as the construction of the People’s Front as a national organization and third tool for the Revolution of New Democracy in Mexico. The definition for the works of the II SolRojista Political Congress was also discussed, which goal is to make a leap in the construction of the democratic organization.
The meeting also commemorated the 132th anniversary of the birth of Chairman Mao Tse-tung. Homage to the ongoing People’s Wars in Peru, Turkey, India and the Philippines, vanguard of the World Proletarian Revolution, was done, as well as in the growing revolutionary situation in Brazil.
The organization expressed its solidarity with the people of Palestine and its heroic National Resistance Front, which confronts the Yankee-NATO military intervention plans. The military blockade in the Caribbean and the threat of a military intervention on Venezuela was also rejected.
The commemoration ended with a dinner and a political-cultural event, where the demand of the self-determination right of the Venezuelan people was highlighted.
The organization payed tribute to its martyred comrades, especially to comrades Professor Celedonio Luis Santibañez and Dr. Ernesto Sernas García. With their historical example, the organization commits to win and to continue the struggle for the Revolution and the national liberation.
