DVD: Yankees ¡GO HOME! – New Aggression Against Venezuela
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a note published by Dem Volke Dienen on the aggression on Venezuela.
“The United States will reassert and enforce the Monroe Doctrine to restore American preeminence in the Western Hemisphere, and to protect our homeland and our access to key geographies throughout the region. We will deny non-Hemispheric competitors the ability to position forces or other threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets, in our Hemisphere. This “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine is a common-sense and potent restoration of American power and priorities, consistent with American security interests.”
This is the new National Security Strategy of US imperialism. The Monroe Doctrine dates back to the US president who, in 1823, outlined the principles of a long-term foreign policy for the United States. Under the motto “America for the (US) Americans,” the USA aggressively competed with the European powers for dominance on the American continent.
Following this published strategy, the Yankees, in their aggression, violate all international treaties and agreements, international law and the laws of war, as well as their own self-chosen national “law”.
Approximately 30 boats have been bombed and destroyed in the Caribbean and the Pacific since September 2nd, resulting in the murder of well over 100 people. In doing so, US imperialism breaks and negates all recognized legal principles, because no legal entity is involved in the process of prosecuting alleged criminals; instead, the military simply slaughters them.
The blockade and seizure of oil tankers not belonging to Yankee capital (Chevron is the only remaining foreign oil company in Venezuela permitted to exploit Venezuela’s oil reserves—the largest in the world) is simply piracy. Yet nowhere is there a call for a military-humanitarian intervention in Washington to enforce democracy and human rights—the US remains the sole hegemonic superpower and is fighting precisely to maintain this status.
The US reportedly attacked a target inside Venezuela for the first time at the end of December, according to CNN. The target of the attack was a port facility. This marks the beginning of a new phase of US aggression against the Latin American subcontinent.
The attack was allegedly carried out by the CIA using drones in an unspecified area. The Yankees claim to have attacked and destroyed a “large facility.” The drone strike, reportedly carried out this month by the CIA, represents a new escalation in the conflict that has been simmering for months.
This attack represents a new step forward in US imperialist aggression against Latin America, as it is the first bombing of a Latin American country in many years. Of course, all of this begins without a formal declaration of war and in violation of international law and international agreements for conflict resolution.
Even though the Yankees are undoubtedly the main aggressors in the conflict, one must not neglect the complicity of German imperialism, which creates the “democratic framework” (through Nobel Peace Prizes and similar nonsense) for the legitimation of US aggression.
