Residents Resist Eviction of the Toma San Antonio, Chile

Yesterday January 13, a resident resistance in the Toma San Antonio was mobilized. The police forces carried out brutal repression, trying to burn the homes to evict the residents. However, the residents repelled the repression in several parts and a police officer was injured by a shotgun.

The repression of the Toma happened after the betrayal of some negotiators of the community, who was supposed to defend the residents from the institutions, but instead sold their interest to the government and participated themselves in the eviction of the families.

The residents deployed a contingent with barricades and popular defense for their homes, as seen in the images.
