FDLP-Ecuador: LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE OF THE IRANIAN PEOPLE!
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement by the Defense Front of the People’s Struggles in Ecuador.
From the Defense Front of the People’s Struggle in Ecuador, we express our internationalist solidarity with the Iranian people, who are once again subjected to a script of aggression that combines external encirclement, media manipulation, and destabilization operations. These are predatory and criminal methods that the oppressed peoples of the world have seen repeated time and again in different places, with Venezuela being the condensed expression of this imperialist strategy that is now being imposed on Iran.
The “12-day war,” between June 13 and 24, 2025, with air strikes and terrorist attacks by Yankee imperialism in collusion with Israeli Zionism, was not an isolated or “circumstantial” event, but rather the turning point in an escalation that is reorganizing the permanent and systematic aggression against Iran and preparing the ground for subsequent phases of aggression. In that “blitzkrieg,” the US-Israel rehearsed the combination of a rapid air attack, selective targets, intelligence, terrorist actions within Iranian territory, economic strangulation, and psychological operations. Once the initial phase or first stage was completed, the aggression mutated into a more diffuse, more persistent, and more difficult to track format, a combination of hybrid warfare and soft warfare.
Precisely in this context, and as a result of the economic and psychological aggression to which it has been subjected for years, Iran entered a period of economic difficulties, and with them, social difficulties, which generated a certain amount of discontent in society, especially among the masses. What is unacceptable is that these contradictions and expressions of discontent (mobilizations) have been turned into “arguments” for a “regime change” operation and “protecting the physical integrity of the demonstrators” designed in Washington. In other words, as in Venezuela, Yankee imperialism believes it has the moral and political authority to interfere in the problems of Third World countries within their borders.
The logic is familiar and gradual: first, economic decline and uncertainty deepen; then polarization and division between sectors of the population are fueled; next, collective trust is eroded and a sense of ungovernability takes hold; and finally, “salvific solutions” imposed from outside are sold as inevitable, under the narrative of ‘collaborating’ with the people “oppressed” by the ayatollahs and the Revolutionary Guard of Iran.
This is clear, and we refer to the evidence. The US uses violence and pressure, sponsors terrorist groups that “push” the masses against regimes not aligned with imperialist policies, in an effort to generate dramatic and “legitimate” change within the countries it intervenes in. As part of this strategy, the US and Israeli propaganda machine has produced and disseminated through all media outlets a series of videos, images, and alleged “evidence” of disproportionate, even bloody, responses by Iranian police forces. They seek to show the world a criminal and repressive government that, in the course of social protests, has killed thousands of Iranians and others, including the “leaders” of the uprising, by imposing the death penalty.
What is at stake is precisely the qualitative leap in aggression: the articulation between soft war and hybrid war as a single strategy and a single device. Soft warfare operates on narrative, emotion, and perception: it installs labels, amplifies events, fragments reality into pieces useful for an agenda, and seeks to make international public opinion accept US military intervention as “natural” and “necessary.” Hybrid warfare, on the other hand, is the complete mechanism: it combines sanctions and financial pressure, diplomatic isolation, covert operations, sabotage, cyberattacks, information warfare, and the permanent threat of returning to open military action when convenient.
Consequently, we reaffirm something simple and elementary: Iran’s destiny cannot be decided in Washington’s offices or under the threat of its weapons; the struggle for self-determination is an inalienable right and duty of dignified peoples; the country’s internal contradictions must be resolved by the Iranians themselves.
Imperialism is dreaming if it thinks that the recent deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to Western Asia, escorted by destroyers, the arrival of more fighter planes in Jordan, and an increase in military and logistical air traffic to the region, including the Diego Garcia base, will break a people determined not to give up an inch of their dignity and defiance; much less so given that the struggles of the Iranian people are also the struggles of the oppressed peoples of the world.
It is worth noting that Iran has been resisting imperialist aggression since 1979; national resistance has been forged in the heat of battle; invading the Persian people will not be a walk in the park for the US, and even less so for Zionism. Iran will inevitably become the Vietnam of Western Asia.
For these reasons, the Defense Front of the People’s Struggle in Ecuador demands an immediate end to the escalation against Iran and calls on oppressed peoples around the world to break through the media blockade, to expose the destabilization operations undertaken by Yankee imperialism and its spawn: criminal Zionism; to maintain active solidarity with those who face the same enemy: political interference and imperialist military aggression and its allies.
Yankees, go home!
Long live the resistance of Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Venezuela!
Long live the resistance of the oppressed peoples of the world!
Death to imperialism and its lackeys!
