Protests in Spanish State have recently brought together campaigns over public education and housing and many others, while also raising debate about repression and the right to protest.
In Madrid, an open-ended public-education strike began on 14 October with several linked demonstrations. Students and families joined educators in mobilizations against privatization and in support of better pay, smaller classes and greater investment in public education. On the first day, demonstrators blocked major streets, and police intervened at the Complutense University campus. Servir al Pueblo reported about arrests and injuries. There was also a large march to Puerta del Sol and calls for an investigation into police repression.
Housing protests have continued around the encampment at Puerta del Sol. On 18 October, a solidarity gathering and march there drew about 70 people, according to Servir al Pueblo. Organizers expressed support for protesters in France and connected that solidarity to calls for stronger mobilization in Spain, including a general strike planned for 11 November. This follows a national housing movement driven by demands for affordable rents and stronger tenant protections.

the International Anti-Imperialist League – Section Spanish State published pictures of the mobilization “in solidarity with rebellion of the French people” in Puerta del Sol:
In addition, A Servir al Pueblo report published on 14 October described a 4 October counter-protest in Seville against a far-right rally, stating that police escorted the far-right group and used force against antifascist demonstrators.
